Steve began working for Leonard, Boudinot & Skodje in April of 2005. Prior to that he had been a land use planner for the Lummi Nation, USDA Forest Service, and Skamania County.

While with the Lummi Nation, Steve worked primarily on long range planning with a focus on developing a Community Plan that would help the general Tribal population become more involved in setting the goals of the Tribal Government.

During his time with Skamania County and the Forest Service, Steve worked with Federal, State, Local, and Tribal governments on the implementation of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. His work there included reviewing general land use applications, shoreline permits, State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). He was also a member of a team that worked on the review and revision of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area Management Plan.

Since coming to work for LBS, he has provided extensive planning assistance and obtained permitting for industrial, commercial, and residential developments, river diking improvements and gravel mines. He has worked on obtaining short plats and boundary line adjustments, including meetings with City and County agencies and ensuring environmental issues are dealt with to the satisfaction of all parties affected.
