Founded
Louis Berger founded by Dr. Louis Berger to provide “every kind of engineering service in every corner of the world.”
1959
First International Project
Louis Berger undertakes its first international assignment, assisting in the rehabilitation of 700 kilometers of the Rangoon-Mandalay Road in Burma.
1980
Designs for Ovda Air Base
Louis Berger prepares designs for Israel’s Ovda Air Base, a cornerstone of the Camp David peace agreement between Israel and Egypt and part of the Sinai peacekeeping accords.
1986
Peacekeeper (MX) Missle System
Louis Berger mobilized more than 250 professionals to provide planning and environmental support contractor to the U.S. Air Force for the deployment of the Peacekeeper (MX) Missile System.
1995
Louis Berger forms VMS Inc.
Louis Berger forms VMS Inc., a joint venture, to create the first US services company providing turnkey operations and maintenance services for roadways and associated facilities.
2004
Berger/Cummins
Louis Berger and Cummins Power Generation establish Berger/Cummins, a joint venture to provide contingency power services to US military installations globally.
2010
Awarded USACE Worldwide Prime Power IDIQ contract
Berger/Cummins awarded USACE Worldwide Prime Power IDIQ contract to provide power services to US military installations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
2012
Acquisition of Ranger International Services Group, Inc.
Louis Berger acquires Ranger International Services Group, Inc., a Greenville, SC, based company providing a range of aviation and logistics services, to create Louis Berger Services (LBS)
2013
Acquisition of Hawthorne Services, Inc.
LBS acquires Hawthorne Services, Inc., of Charleston, SC, specializing in facilities services and fueling operations on airfields and military bases
2014
Awarded EPC Contract in Samoa
LBS awarded EPC contract for the design and construction of the Satala power plant in Samoa
2017
Formation of Infrastructure Asset Maintenance business
LBS forms a new Infrastructure Asset Maintenance business line dedicated to maintaining state and local roadways and associated facilities. Hurricane Maria strikes Puerto Rico, LBS supplies emergency generators as part of a broader emergency response mission.
2018
Win first Florida DOT Roadway Maintenance Contract
LBS wins first Florida DOT roadways maintenance contract in District 5, Flagler-Volusia
2019
Enter Commercial Fuels Market
LBS wins City of Atlanta fueling facilities maintenance & operation contract at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to enter the commercial fuels market.
2020
Win LOGCAP V Project
LOGCAP V award confirmed to LBS team, with three service performance task orders across the US Army’s CENTCOM and INDOPACOM AORs.
