LBS Welcomes Jaime Verano to its Aircraft Services Group in Central America
June 06, 2023LBS recently announced that Jaime Verano has joined its Aircraft Services group as Project Manager in the Cooperative Security Location (CSL) Comalapa, El Salvador.
LBS supports the US Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast by providing Base Operations Support (BOS) at the CSL, Comalapa. The five-year agreement started in April 2022 and marked LBS’ first BOS contract as the prime contractor.
In his new role, Verano is responsible for establishing and fostering relationships with US Navy stakeholders and local nationals and directing contract performance, including Airfield and Aircraft Operations, Fueling, Facility Operations, Base Vehicle and Equipment Operations, Maintenance and Repairs, and IT Support and Management.
Verano has over 25 years of experience leading military, aerospace, and industrial programs. His professional background spans 10 years in roles specializing in BOS, including nearly three years at the CSL, Comalapa as a Program Manager for a large government contractor. Verano is also a veteran of the US Air Force and served in the 2nd Combat Communications Group.
Verano credits much of his success in leadership to working with federal agencies, and relationship building through his experiences leading multi-disciplined teams of engineers, technicians, and staff at the Kennedy Space Center. He also applies the sage advice from Founder of Ford Motor Company Henry Ford, who once said, “The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.”
“I’m honored to be part of the Louis Berger team. LBS is a company that centers on people working collectively, like a family,” said Verano. “Relationships are extremely important, especially in the Latin American culture, where my Latin roots allow me to understand and share cultural and social traditions, as well as honor the way business is conducted. We have an amazing, capable, and professional team in El Salvador, and are keenly aware of the unique challenges associated with this contract. I’m deeply excited to be working with this team to help LBS continue to foster a customer-centric culture, and empower current and future employees to have a voice and take pride in the quality of products and services we provide to our customer. My goals at the CSL are to ensure LBS continually demonstrates leadership and commitment to our folks in El Salvador and the US Navy, deliver proactive value-based solutions that provide greater system reliability, reduce equipment downtime, promote efficiencies, and grow our business in Latin America.”
